WHAT WE'RE MADE OF

We are continuously pushing our manufacturing processes to be cleaner, safer, and more responsible, and it starts with our fabrics. Beginning in Fall 2024, all EXO Shield fabrics will be free of per- and polyfluorinated substances (PFAS). EXO Shield also comes in various post-consumer recycled compositions to extend the lifecycle of materials and keep them out of landfills.

PFAS-free DWR-treated membrane that prevents water penetration and ensures dryness during extended exposure to wet environments.

BREATHABILITY

Higher ratings are critical for maintaining thermal comfort and reducing condensation inside the jacket during intense physical activity.

4-WAY STRETCH

Provides greater flexibility, comfort, and freedom of movement, while maintaining shape and elasticity over time.

2-WAY STRETCH

Benefit of flexibility and comfort without the need for the full range of motion for those who refuse to sacrifice mobility.

WHAT IS 30k / 20k / 10k?

The terms 10k, 20k, and 30k refer to the waterproof and breathability ratings of the fabric. These ratings are crucial for understanding how well a garment will perform in various weather conditions, especially in snow or rain.
Waterproof ratings are measured in millimeters (mm), while Breathability ratings are measured in grams (g). For example, a 30k Waterproof rating means the fabric can withstand 30,000 mm of water before it starts to leak. A 30k Breathability rating allows 30,000 grams of moisture vapor to escape in a 24-hour period.
30k WATERPROOF
This is the highest level of waterproofing and is best for extreme conditions. Superior level of waterproofing, suitable for severe weather, heavy snow or wet environments. Ideal for backcountry expeditions or extreme weather situations.
30k BREATHABILITY
High-intensity skiing where effective moisture management is essential for comfort and performance. Perfect for high-performance skiing or highly active individuals.
20k WATERPROOF
Excellent protection against heavy and sustained snow or rain in challenging weather conditions. Ideal for serious skiers who spend a lot of time in harsh, wet environments.
20k BREATHABILITY
Engineered for a wide range of activities and conditions where high performance is needed, but not for extreme environments. Ideal for those who are very active and sweat more.
10k WATERPROOF
Highly effective for general use and moderate weather where extreme conditions or intense activities are not applicable. Ideal for activities where you might encounter wet conditions but won't be submerged in snow or rain for long periods.
10k BREATHABILITY
Applicable for moderate skiing and most activities, offering effective moisture management and comfort. This is good for most activities, but might feel a bit stuffy for those who are highly active.
